Where we are
Yekhao Resort and Samkhey Homestay sit side by side in Kherem, Namsai, in the eastern folds of Arunachal Pradesh. The two properties are a short 350-metre walk apart — close enough to share a common kitchen ethos and cultural spirit, distinct enough to offer very different kinds of stays. Between them lies a stretch of forest, a wild river and a quieter version of the world.
Yekhao Resort — the cinematic riverside sanctuary
Yekhao is our flagship — a boutique riverside retreat built around wood, water and the rhythm of the forest. Rooms open toward the river, wooden walkways trace the property, and the on-site pavilion serves traditional Tai Khamti and Northeast Indian cuisine at every meal. Evenings begin with a bonfire and stretch on under a sky full of stars.
- Riverside Suites, Forest Cottages and Tribal Deluxe Rooms — each with private views.
- All-day riverside restaurant with locally sourced ingredients.
- Guided nature walks, a safe natural swimming stretch, bonfire evenings and cultural programmes with the Tai Khamti community.
Samkhey Homestay — intimate tribal warmth, 350 m from Yekhao
Samkhey is a small, family-run homestay a few minutes on foot from the resort. It is intentionally quieter — four handcrafted rooms, warm interiors, and the kind of hospitality that only comes from staying in someone’s home. Guests at Samkhey have full access to the restaurant, walks and experiences at Yekhao.
What we believe
Built with local craft, run by local hands, and grown from local ingredients.
Every design choice defers to the water, the forest and the seasons.
Small, warm, personal. We would rather be remembered than rated.
The Tai Khamti community isn’t a backdrop — they are the heart of every evening here.
